Senior year, best friends with a cherry on top

I can't believe how fast the semester is flying by. Classes are going ok. Digital Systems is really time consuming and capstone is going to soon be that way. My grades are good so far but next week is my first test and our Capstone Proposal. I have been really busy lately. I might as well live in Houser hall. It's nice to now have the capstone lab that I only have to share with my group and one other so we have a place to ourselves and we can store things there if needed. I really miss sleep. I get enough sleep every night but I miss sleeping in.
I never get to see Nikki and that makes me sad. Her birthday is next week and I have no idea when I will find the time to celebrate it with her. She is awesome, I'm not sure what I would do without her. She is the closest thing I will ever have to a sister and I would do anything for her. I fear the day that we have to move apart. We have been together since we were 4!! I haven't ever had to live without her. She has always been there for me when I had no one else. She is everything a best friend should be.
Someone asked me a few weeks ago if I wanted to only have one kid since i am an only child. It's something that I never thought of until 2 friends of mine who are brothers were "annoying" each other with some insignificant things. It made me think how lucky I am to not have to worry about sharing with a sibling or them getting on my nerves, but it also made me think about the absence of a sibling and how I will never know what that bond feels like. A friends big brother is getting ready to leave for training to go to Afghanistan and she is really sad. I feel sympathy for her because I know it's hard but I don't know what to say because that sibling bond is something that I know nothing about. Basically I never want to have an only child because the absence of that bond greatly outweighs the sibling rivalries. But everything happens for a reason and God doesn't make mistakes, he didn't give me a sibling for a reason.
